Bolsonaro again minimizes the pandemic when Brazil exceeds 150 thousand deaths

Jair Bolsonaro, president of Brazil, again downplayed the severity of the coronavirus pandemic this Saturday

The Brazilian president, Jair bolsonaro, he came back to minimize the severity of the pandemic coronavirus this Saturday, shortly after it was confirmed that the country exceeded the 150 thousand dead by COVID-19.

If you catch it one day, don’t worry. I am 65 years old, I already had it and I did not feel anything. Not a flu. Zero zero. Nothing ”, he declared in a conversation with a woman identified only as Alessandra that he broadcast this Saturday on his social networks and in which he recalled that last July he contracted COVID-19 and overcame it “without problems.”

Shortly before, a media consortium that collects data from the regional health secretariats had reported that the country had exceeded the 150,000 death toll from COVID-19, which was later ratified by the Ministry of Health.

According to the government, in the last 24 hours there have been 559 deaths and the total number of deaths since March, when the first was registered, now reaches 150,198.

Also according to the Ministry of Health, since Friday another 26 thousand 749 cases have been confirmed, for a total of five million 82 thousand 637.

In addition, four million 453 thousand 722 patients who contracted the coronavirus have recovered and another 478 thousand 717 remain under observation.

Bolsonaro did not make any reference to this situation in his conversation with Alessandra, transmitted from a Marina hotel in Guarujá, a beach on the Sao Paulo coast where he decided to spend the weekend with his family, taking advantage of the fact that on Monday it will be festive.

As he usually does every weekend in Brasilia, the president rode a motorcycle through the streets of Guarujá, greeted dozens of supporters and stopped to take pictures with them, without wearing a mask or respecting the rules of social isolation that still apply in that area. region.

Also this Saturday it was confirmed that the minister of the Government Secretariat of Brazil, Luiz Eduardo Ramos, the tenth of the 22 members of Bolsonaro’s cabinet who has been infected.
